- Abstract
- This paper describes a novel method to mitigate the shadowing effect due to the finger, using the optically-transparent frequency selective surface at millimeter-wave (mmWave). Analytical method based on the diffraction is proposed for calculating the required frequency response of the n thzone of the FSS and verified using full-wave simulation which includes the patch antenna, finger and the FSS. The devised FSS demonstrates over 11 dB gain improvement, enabling the antenna to establish reliable propagation channel when encompassed by the finger.
