dc.description.abstractBlockchain-based payment service is one of the most promising services among blockchain use cases. The payment service requires the ability to process tens of thousands of payment requests per second and the rapid result response to individual payment requests. However, the blockchain platform must support distributed consensus among participating nodes, so performance and responsiveness are not satisfied. In order to solve this problem, off-chain payment channel protocols called Layer-2 have been proposed. In this paper, we propose an effective payment channel protocol that utilizes Trusted Execution Environment and off-chain server in Ethereum blockchain. The proposed protocol has the following features. First, it significantly reduces the cost processing payment on the payment channel network in the normal case. Second, when off-chain payments are made on the payment channel network between two parties, all nodes related to payment agree synchronously through the off-chain server. This simplifies the process of off-chain payments and also eliminates the use of hashlock techniques using TEE. Third, it eliminates the need for on-chain monitoring.-
