Abstract
This dissertation presents the essential technology for the emerging 5G and 6G wireless systems. Especially, it is a huge challenge to prepare the upcoming 6G and to study the relevant application. Basic study for wave propagation and material information is introduced, which is the most fundamental study for the researchers by taking the sensitivity and dependency of performance on material properties into consideration. Furthermore, the precise characterization of sub-wavelength materials is presented by implementing deep neural network (DNN). For the first time to the author's best knowledge, DNN is employed for the analysis of sub-wavelength materials. In addition, a planar 1-D tightly-coupled array without baluns is demonstrated for millimeter-wave (Mmwave) wireless scenarios. This first-of-its-kind array eliminates the need for complex feeding networks including balun, and its fully planar structure enables simple packaging and assembly in various manufacturing processes.
