- Abstract
- This thesis presents implementation of a link-level simulator that supports digital, modulation, radio, and propagation channels. The structure of the simulator is divided into four classes in which message bits are generated at the transmitter and the bits are recovered at the receiver. Our implementation approach supports all four types of channels and provides compatibility among these channels. All the signal model and channel environments can be set on GUI in MATLAB. We present the architecture of the simulator and digital signal processing techniques. As a utilization method, we propose about interaction of simulator with a hardware testbed. Simulation results prove that the compability among channel types is well established, and the convenience for link-level simulation for different channel types is increased. The implementation approach and simulator architecture provide a novel method to simulation of the communication systems.
In the next part of this thesis, we provide a brief guide about how to implement GUI in MATLAB for time-efficient simulation. A simple example shows the implementation of a simulator using GUI in MATLAB. In the final part, we introduce an overview of 3D-spatial channel model based on 3GPP TR 36.873 and TR 38.901.
