This paper describes performance test results of a long-range marine communication system developed for fishing buoy detection. Fishing buoy is a mark of the location of fishing tools installed underwater, and fishermen must find the buoy before harvesting fishes. When a poor visibility condition, it is hart to find the buoy with naked eyes. The developed system sends the current coordinates of the buoy to the fishermen through wireless signal. The experiment results shows the possibility of 14 km peer-to-peer communication for the coordinate transmission. Therefore, the system can greatly expand the buoy detection range. © 2019 IEEE.-
