As a method for improving the optical efficiency and sensitivity of conventional complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor image sensors (CISs), we propose and designed CISs applicable to pixel-scale color-splitting metalens. The designed color-splitting metalens effectively separates incidence light according to red, green and blue wavelengths, and focuses each light on the corresponding pixels. The color-splitting ability of the proposed color-splitting metalens was demonstrated by its transmission response for white light and power distribution through simulation. It showed 290%, 150%, and 220% efficiency for red, green, and blue lights, respectively, compared with the transmission limitation of color filters. With the increasing demand for high-resolution and high- performance CISs, the proposed color-splitting metalens could be a promising structure for the next-generation CISs.-
