- Abstract
- This thesis proposes a method of improving luminous efficiency (EL) of plasma display panel. Inductors are inserted in series with SUS_UP switches for reducing turn-on hard switching losses of the switches. In addition proposed sustainer circuits lead dispersion of light emission for improving EL. Sustain pulses are applied by series resonance, thus panel’s voltage exceeds sustain voltage (VS). Therefore, parts of discharging currents leak into VS capacitors. To remove the leakage of discharging currents, current paths to VS capacitors are removed. The circuit was tested on a 50-inch FHD (1920×1080) single-scan AC PDP. Compared with the conventional method, EL was increased by 9.754 % for a full white pattern.
