dc.description.abstractElectroceuticals that can treat various diseases by controlling the nervous system, have received attention. In particular, transcranial electrical stimulation (TES) is a promising therapeutic modality for neurological disorders, such as dementia, depression, stroke, and schizophrenia. However, its clinical efficacy is being debated due to the shunting effect of the scalp tissue. In recent years, implantable devices with subcutaneous electrical stimulation (SES) have been developed to overcome the limitations of TES. In this study, we comprehensively analyze the stimulus-induced electric fields and neuromodulatory effects during TES and SES using in vivo recordings and 3D computational simulations in a canine model. Our in vivo and silico results demonstrate that the SES would effectively modulate the neuronal rhythms compared to conventional TES.-
