Social Relation-aware P2P Resource Control Algorithm

Abstract

In this thesis, we propose a social relation-aware P2P resource control algorithm to guarantee the social fairness and to satisfy the QoS of video streaming. To achieve this goal, we define friendship by analyzing online social networking websites (OSNs), and model the credit mechanism using friendship and resource contribution to the network. Based on this credit mechanism, we propose a social relation-aware P2P resource control algorithm. It is constantly adjusted to achieve an effective trade-off the QoS of video streaming and the user’s total credit. Finally, we provide experimental results to show the performance of the proposed algorithm.
