Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the success of smartphone-based mobile banking service. To this end, the study reviews previous studies related to information systems success model. It also proposes a modified model for an empirical research, based on DeLone & McLean's model and tests how external factors can impact user satisfaction and intention to use. After collecting survey data of 163 respondents who have experience with smartphone-based mobile banking, the data were analyzed with structural equation modeling. The main results of this study are as follow: First, information quality is a traditionally important variable in information systems success model. This study, however, fails to prove the causality among information quality, user satisfaction and intention to use. Second, both system quality and interface quality significantly influence user satisfaction. Third, service quality has a positive effect on the intention to use. Fourth, user satisfaction has a positive effect on intention to use. And it also has the effect of mediator between quality factors and intention to use.
