Abstract

In this paper, we present an effective hybrid push-pull-based Luby transform encoding symbol delivery for seamless video streaming multicast over error-prone P2P network. The proposed system adopts Luby transform codes to efficiently handle the effect of lost packets and simplify the buffer map information exchanging procedure, and a hybrid push-pull-based delivery mechanism to deliver Luby transform encoding symbols required for successful decoding to all the participating peers on time with minimal overall redundancy. The proposed system is designed to pursue an efficient tradeoff between delay and the amount of redundancy by controlling the code rate of Luby transform codes.
