This Ph. D. thesis introduces the fabrication method of carbon nanotube (CNT) and conducting polymer (CP) nanowire using dielectrophoresis (DEP). This fabrication method is based on electrohydrodynamics in micro-scale and occurs the viscoelastic liquid and air interface. To understanding basics of the fabrication method, two types of electroosmotic flow (EOF) is studied theoretically. The EOF of open-channel explains the characteristic of flow near the liquid-air interface. The EOF of viscoelastic fluid shows the velocity profile and flow rates are varied due to non-Newtonian fluid characteristics. CNT-CP single-nanowires are fabricated between facial electrodes, self-templated by dielectrophoresis and electropolymerization. The high controllability and efficiency of this fabrication method enable high-yield production of nanowires with a wide variety of properties desired for many applications. Fabrication of an individually addressed nanowire array with cantilever electrodes on a microchip is demonstrated. CNT nanowire on tungsten tip can be fabricated applying similar method. Drawing away the tips, CNTs condensed and forms CNT nanoprobe passing through liquid-air interface. It is shown that the diameter of CNT nanowire can be controllable by adjusting the withdrawal velocity of the tip under constant environment by theoretical method and experimental results. The nanowires applied to organic electrochemical transistor and neural electrode and their result are presented.en_US
