- Abstract
- The effect of the type and orientation of transmitting dipoles on the electric Field strength and extrapolation in radiated emission (RE) measurements at an open area test site (OATS) is considered in the frequency range of 30 1000 MHz. The transmitting dipoles used to model all equipment under test (EUT) are three orthogonal electric dipoles and three orthogonal magnetic dipoles: horizontal. longitudinal and vertical. Also included is the effect of the different range of the receiving height, particularly at a distance of 30 m, and the different height of the transmitting dipoles on the electric field strength and extrapolation. Results for the electric Field strengths are presented in terms of relative contribution of each source dipole, provided that the radiated power of the dipole is constant. The preferable range of the receiving height at distance 30m is determined for the three orthogonal electric and magnetic dipoles. Results of extrapolation Factors are also presented by means of the relative behaviour of each dipole.
