The optimum feeding point for a heater-grid antenna is selected from the radiation pattern results by the NEC-2 moment-method code. A skeletal box plot is employed to measure the omnidirectional degree of the calculated radiation patterns of heater-grid antennas in the azimuthal plane. It is shown from a comparison between calculated and measured results of radiation patterns that this approach can be effectively utilized in the advanced initial stage of the automobile body and antenna design for optimum FM reception.
