- Abstract
- In hot forming, control of heat transfer characteristics may become important for successful production. Further, the effect of heat transfer must be taken into account for the control of metal flow. In this paper, we present a genetic algorithm based approach to process optimal design in non-isothermal forming. The approach uses an integrated thermo-mechanical finite element process model for the prediction of heat transfer and metal how occurring in the workpiece and dies (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science S.A.
