Abstract
We have studied the persistent currents of multi-anyons on a quasi-one-dimensional ring in the presence of a threading magnetic flux. The energy eigenvalues of the system have been determined from the one-dimensional representation of the braid group. It is shown that the periods of the persistent currents depend on the commensurability of the number of anyons N. When the statistical parameters of anyons are pig with coprimes p and q, the persistent current is found to display the fractional periodicity Phi(0)/q, for N = qM with M an integer. If N not equal qM, the persistent current shows the fundamental period of the unit flux quantum.
