- Abstract
- The densification behaviors of copper and tin powders during hot pressing are investigated. Pressure-densification measure relations for the instantaneous and equilibrium responses are represented by linear equations. The slopes of the linear equations for the instantaneous response are represented by a function of temperature to correlate hot pressing data with the hollow sphere model analysis. The hollow sphere model analysis with material constants obtained from a steady state creep response of dense copper, however, underestimates experimental creep compaction data. This discrepancy was explained by incorporating both transient and steady state creep responses of dense copper.
