Abstract
The slagging is the major problem of the power station during pulverized coal combustion. For an accurate ash deposit prediction, it is necessary to be preceded a numerical simulation of pulverized coal combustion. I used PC Coal LAB to gain constants for devolatilization model and char oxidation model, CBK/E model. In this study, UDF(User Define Function) based on FLUENT was developed to predict a ash deposit propensity. The ash deposit model was based on inertial impaction in the ash deposit mechanism. Experiment data from the Korea Electric Power Research Institute (KEPRI) pilot-scale furnace have been used to validate ash deposit model. In Models of ash viscosity, Kalmanovitch-Urbain model is shown a most appropriate model as a ash viscosity model in this study.
