Abstract
Iodide-bridged diruthenium complexes [(n(5) -2.5-R-2-3.4-Ph2C4COH) (CO)(2) Ru-(mu-I)-Ru(CO)(2)(n(4)-2.5-R-2-3.4-Ph2C4CO)] (6a, R=ph; 6b, R=Me) were formed from the reaction of (n(5-)2.5-3.4-Ph2C4COH)(CO)(2) RuI (2c, R=Ph;2d, R=Me) with [(2.5-R(2-)3.4-Ph2C4CO)(CO)(2)Ru](2) (7a, R=Ph; 7b, R=Me). The complexes exhibited a high catalytic activity for the oxidation of alcohols with silver oxide at room temperature.
