- Abstract
- In spite of a relatively short history, the powder metallurgy (P/M) program at RIST and POSTECH involves extensive research and development on powder processing technology including metal powder production on a pilot plant scale and the synthesis of new materials via the P/M route. The major research interest in P/M lies in developing rapidly solidified structural materials and the related fabrication and processing technology. With the emphasis on its founding philosophy promoting close cooperation among industry, university and research centers, RIST/POSTECH has developed extensive collaborations with industries including POSCO and has continued to play a leading role in the Korean P/M community.
