The new polyether aminomethylenephosphonate (Li2O3PCH2)2N(CH2CH2O)3CH2CH2N(CH2PO3Li2)2(2b) has been prepared in a simple one-pot procedure from H2N(CH2CH2O)3CH2CH2NH2, formaldehyde and phosphorous acid, followed by neutralisation with lithium hydroxide. Compound (2b) shows a room temperature conductivity of 5 X 10(-6) S cm-1 and can be considered as a short chain model compound for a new type of polymeric lithium ion conductor.-
