- Abstract
- The Pohang Accelerator Laboratory X-ray free electron laser (PAL-XFEL) will operate a soft X-ray undulator line and a hard X-ray one during the initial operation period. For the hard X-ray line, self seeding using a diamond crystal is the most promising approach to supply narrow bandwidth radiation to users. This paper presents simulation results for the optimization of the self seeding layout in the hard X-ray undulator line for PAL-XFEL. The electron energy used in this study for the hard X-ray sell seeding scheme is 8.126 GeV and the central wavelength is 0.15 nm. The photon beam spectral bandwidth will be 0.78 eV by using the self seeding option. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
