- Abstract
- This report summarizes the feasibility studies on the fabrication and evaluation of a Sc2O3-doped zirconia (ScSZ)-based microtubular SOFC under 3% humidified CH4 fuel flow at intermediate temperature, in addition to those under 3% humidified H-2 fuel flow. The cell was fabricated through co-sintering of a ScSZ electrolyte layer and a NiO-ScSZ anode support, and then a La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-x-Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95 cathode layer was coated on the electrolyte layer. Evaluation was conducted using a potentio/galvanostat and impedance analyzer under the humidified H-2 and CH4 flows. The maximum power densities at 650 and 700 degrees C were 41.6 and 58.5 mW/cm(2), respectively, under the CH4 gas flow. The cell showed good stability during one hour current loading test under 3% humidified CH4 flow.
