- Abstract
- Oleophobic surface shows good repellency against low surface tension. This study introduces a very easy and rapid method to fabricate oleophobic surfaces. The fabrication process comprises three steps: anodizing, dipping in boiling water, and fluorination. Anodized aluminum-oxide fibers collapse and form undulating structure, and aluminum hydroxide particles form nanoscale structure. Two types of oleophobic surfaces were tested using four liquids, all of which were repelled. This includes n-hexadecane, which has the lowest surface tension of the test liquids at 27.5 mN/m.
