Electromagnetic scattering analysis techniques for RCS prediction can be categorized into the low frequency method and the high frequency method, according to the size of the scatterer with respect of the operating frequency. High frequency method such as geometrical optics(GO) and physical optics(PO) can provide fast and robust solutions of scattering from electrically large and complex targets. In this research, first of all, PO for calculation of single scattering in presented. PO is thoroughly derived for a patch from Maxwell’s equations. The numerical integration in the solution is eliminated using the phase integral on surface of patches. It can be easy implementation and fast solutions from large structures, such as wind turbinesWind turbines are important targets in many ground based radar systems, and it is highly desirable to have the capability of classifying the detected wind turbines. It is shown that the time-frequency analysis can be used to determine the number of wind turbine blades unambiguously. The rotational frequency of the main blade can be obtained once the number of blades is determined. These parameters can be used to identify the types of the wind turbines in question.en_US
