- A significant recent revision of the solubility of oxygen in liquid aluminum has prompted a re-evaluation of the presence of alumina in the solidified metal. A simple analysis based on thermodynamics and diffusion results in an interesting configuration of nanosized alumina particles distributed in Al. ? 2017, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society and ASM International.
