Abstract
Self-assembled porous templates have been proven to be a promising platform for fabrication of nanomaterials. Among them, block copolymer (BCP) and anodizing aluminum oxide (AAO) have received great attentions as soft template and hard template, respectively. Due to uniform and well-defined morphology on the nanometer scale resulting from their self-assembling nature, these materials are recognized as building blocks for the potential applications such as electronics, biomedicine and energy field. However, little potent applications have been explored and realized due to lack of understanding optimized structure for specific application. Main contribution of this thesis is designing the ideal nanostructures for biomedical membrane and gas sensor. In pursuing this primary objective, block copolymer thin film with cylindrical nanopores and AAO mask were used.
