- Abstract
- The finite element simulations of tensile tests and drawing processes were conducted in order to investigate the effect of the strain rate sensitivity on formability of stainless steel 409L which shows the different mechanical behavior depending on the loading rate. Continuous constant strain rate tensile tests were carried out to acquire the strain rate sensitivity of stainless steel 409L. In the comparison of different strain hardening models, Cowper-Symonds and power law model, FE-simulation of tensile tests shows the delayed plastic flow localization in a specimen with strain rate sensitivity. Likewise, in the FE- simulations of inner hood and formability which have more complicated shapes, the same tendency which leads delayed localization in a sheet is observed.
