Abstract
Hot ductility was measured by tensile and compression test. 0.04C and 0.18C steel are used in tensile or compression condition at various temperatures. Ductility through are investigated at several temperature using several method, reduction of area, elongation, critical hoop strain, softening factor. Also these methods are compared in ductility through range which one is proper to evaluate hot ductility. RA method is thought more proper than Elongation because of independence to temperature. Critical hoop stain method suggests good alternative of reduction of area method. But time consuming or criteria for crack initiation need to be revised. Softening factor and peak stain are not thought proper to evaluate hot ductility because precipitation effects are ignored
