Abstract
Mold oscillator which is move to up-down direction to prevent the newly formed strand shell sticking to the mold wall is necessary. Recent mold oscillator has driving source as electro-hydraulic system and guide equipment of leaf spring and rolling element. Especially, The guide system is very important. Because Mold oscillator has structure which is moved to front-back or left-right direction because of manufacturing tolerance of moving/fixed frame and leaf spring etc, transition of center of mass by additional parts of piping etc, and wear of guide equipment. In case of CEM-Compact Endless casting-rolling Mill, Rolling element as main guide system is applied to mold oscillator. But, CEM has a plan to change guide system from rolling element to leaf spring because of Front-back or left-right displacement of mold oscillator depending on wear of rolling element. But, There are two key issues. The first is expandability of front-back or left-right movement of moving frame by leaf spring. The second is life span of leaf spring. The result of stability evaluation based on maximum stress by static load and rupture strength by fatigue test result by repeated load is stable. But, It is necessary to make improvement plan about front-back or left-right movement because maximum displacement is barely satisfied to standard of permission. It has possibility to exceed standard of permission under real operation condition. Therefore, it is suggested improvement idea to stable operation of mold oscillator.
