Mankind began to look to the sea for oil and gas development to overcome the energy crisis. New offshore platforms are being designed as to be bigger and more complex to cope with the increased consumption of energy. Keeping performance of equipment which are installed on offshore platform is also mightily important, as it is directly related to high productivity of Platform. In this respect, the engineering factor regarding equipment and associating system should be reflected in the FEED. As the projects progressed, the impact of cost and schedule by the variation of design are expected an even greater increase if the concept of system are not defined at FEED stage. This situation raise an erosion of confidence problem and loss for the company. This study focus on the process of reflecting a cooling concept of main rotating equipment to the FEED on the assumption that utility cooling for rotating equipment on FPSO topside are not reflected in the FEED. As the economic efficiency for design variations and design impact are a significant factor at FEED stage, the study proceeded mainly with the evaluation of each design options. To enhance the utilization of the study, referential work procedure and design guide line under same conditions like this study are drawn as the conclusion.-
