dc.description.abstractIron powders play a key role at the Powder Metallurgy(P/M) industries. In order to utilize these powders more efficiently, it is important to understand characteristics of material. For the reason, I conducted systematic experiments and simulations of iron powders. The experiments and simulations can generate a lot of physical data, which can enable to construct the integrated analysis system. The classified data of P/M process include powder design parameters, material properties for compaction, simulation output for compaction, material properties for sintering, simulation output for sintering, and mechanical properties. For examples of classified data, the material properties for compaction are parameters of constitutive equation, which indicate behavior of compaction. The simulation outputs were classified according to thermodynamics, kinetics, and kinematics point of view. To study the correlation of data, the various techniques, such as sensitivity analysis, S/N ratio analysis, have been conducted. If we exactly understand the correlation in process data, we can have insight for desired features and have probabilities which suggest new production condition of powder or new material combination.-
