Various alternative polymer containing various electron donor and acceptor groups were studied by analyzing intrinsic properties by UV-vis spectroscopy, thermogravimeter, differential scanning calorimeter, memory behaviors by semiconductor analyzer and morphology of nano-scales thin films by grazing incident x-ray scattering and x-ray reflectivity in Pohang Accelerating Laboratory. Based on these results, I explored to figure out the correlation between polymer properties and memory characteristics and predict the mechanism of the polymer memory. In addition, applicability of flexible polymer memory devices was also exploded by analyzing the several block copolymers. Firstly, three alternative polymers with an anthracene and various electron donor groups, poly(10-methylene-9,100-dihydroanthrayl-9-spiro-phenylcyclopropane) (poly(MDS)), poly(MDS-DPA) and poly(MDS-CZ), were studied and I could find the correlation between memory mechanism and various electron donor groups, such as phenyl, Triphenylamine (TPA) and N-phenylcarbazole (N-phenyl CZ). In addition, three kinds of donor-acceptor conjugated polymers containing diketopyrroleopyrrole (DPP), TPA and fluorene (FL) were studied. Three polymers are named poly(DPP), poly(DPP-TPA) and poly(DPP-FL). It is well known that donor-acceptor polymer have special morphology so correlation between memory mechanism and morphology was also analyzed. Thirdly, PVK-PSS block copolymer were studied in order to apply PEDOT:PSS on the PVK that is well-known memory polymer. These block copolymers were prepared because they could be expected to minimize to affect memory characteristics of PVK and PEDOT:PSS. PVK-PSS block copolymer would be analyzed by contact angle measurement and XR, I studied how these polymers affect the adhesion of PEDOT:PSS on PVK and find the potential of the fully flexible polymer memory.-
