- Abstract
- Although multi-functional optical coherence tomography (MF-OCT) provides various tissue information of microstructure, vasculature, and birefringence, functional changes of the vasculature such as oxygen saturation are difficult to observe. To overcome the limitation, we developed combined multispectral imaging technique (MSI) and dermoscopy guided MF-OCT (MSI/MF-OCT). MSI was implemented by using multiple wavelengths for dermoscopy imaging. The system was tested with vascular occlusion in the human arm, and then applied to cutaneous radiation injury (CRI) mouse model. In the CRI mouse model, thickening of skin tissue, decrease in vessel sharpness, and increase in oxygen saturation was detected. MSI/MF-OCT might be useful for diagnosis and treatment monitoring in clinical applications.
